Art and Wind Festival, San Ramon, CA
I won't be able to make this years festival but hopefully you can check it out and let me know how it goes. The pictures below are from last years balloon launch, some made it up, others did not. It is the chance you have to take for this wonderful picture opportunity. You have to get their early, 6am on Monday, but it is well worth it if you are a photographer, have children or simply have a love for balloons. You will see them set up, blow up and launch into the wild blue yonder. In previous years I brought a blanket and chairs but last year we didn't use them so going forward I will simply bring my camera. I like to walk around each of the balloons and take pictures from every angle. The excitement starts when the flames shoot into these seemingly fragile balloons. If you are half asleep, don't worry, they sell coffee and donuts in the shack shack. Starting at 10am other events begin. I have gone to listen to the bands, eat the festival food and check out the booths. I might just find the perfect gift for someone and it is much better than hitting the mall.
