Fleet Week, San Francisco

Sat/Sun, Oct 9-10, 2010; 12pm-7pm
Fleet Week at PIER 39 provides you an opportunity to pay tribute to the men and women of our nation's armed forces. This event features a parade of ships, ship tours, military displays, an impressive air show including the Blue Angels Air Show, and more. Throughout the weekend, PIER 39 will host musical entertainment in the Entrance Plaza. Also, check out all the great military exhibits that will be on display.

Last year, 2009, I went to see the Blue Angels during Fleet Week.  They are spectacular.  If you have never been go check them out.  If you have kids they will love it.  There were a lot of people but there is also a lot of room down by the piers at Fisherman's Wharf so it wasn't so crowded that you felt claustrophobic and since it all happens above you there is no bad spot to be.  We stood the whole time, I wouldn't bother bringing chairs or a blanket, it's more standing room only type of thing.

Below are some of my shots from that day.
