Favorite Baby Gift

I don't like to give the usual gift and I would rather give something unique, a keep sake or something they will use when they get a bit older. Usually the mother to be is loaded with outfits and things that the baby will use for the first 6 months but then they don't have nothing to use as they get a bit older.

Here are some of my favorite picks:

Not all parents are into this but most are.  Who doesn't want to save their baby's hand print for the first 5 years of life.  I don't like to buy things that get tossed.  I would rather purchase something that will last or be a keepsake.  The Tower of Time hand print collection is a great gift for that new mom and dad.
You can get them at many places.  I don't remember where I purchased mine but I found these at Baby Heirlooms

I think these socks are simply adorable.  They look like socks and shoes so they are perfectly cute for the little baby.  They are from UncommonGoods and come in a variety of styles, set of 6 for $24.00-26.00

I think a fun gift is a two layer cake made of white diapers and topped with baby care products like baby oil, lotion, soap, shampoo, diaper ointment, dusting powder, and comb.  I have seen where you can purchase it or you can make it just as easy yourself by coiling two circles, one bitter than the other and tying them together with a pretty ribbon.  Although this one is no longer available and I don't care for the color scheme it was done as a Burt's Bees package and it gives you an example.
