Soy Candles: good for you and the earth

I am in the process of switching to soy candles and the one I love right now is from The Soi Company.  I purchased a jar of Seaside Villa.  Next time I'll try a different scent because it can be a bit strong.

What I love is that they burn cleaner than paraffin based candles.40% longer than wax candles, are soot free and do not emit any harmful toxins (like Benzene) into your home.  You can also dip your fingers in the melted wax and use as a hand cream.  It's not hot.

A bit about Paraffin:  Paraffin wax is a by-product of fuel refining - specifically, Paraffin is basically the "bottom of the barrel" even after asphalt is extracted. Paraffin is the final byproduct in the petroleum refining chain. Even "food grade" paraffin contains several known carcinogens (cancer causing agents) identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - such as benzene and toulene, which are released into the air as a paraffin candle burns. Some other air contaminants in paraffin fumes include methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), and naphthalene--substances found in paint, lacquer and varnish removers.
