After getting rid of my scratched up nonstick braiser, the one that was suppose to last and never scratch, I have been on the look out for a replacement. I have finally after much research and looking around have decided to go with the Le Creuset 3 1/2 quart braiser in the new "cassis" color purple.
If you don't know Le Creuset it is well made enameled cast iron cookware made in France. It's the kind of cookware that you can pass down for generations.
I looked at the 5qt also but this is huge. It is not what I would consider an everyday pan for just the two of us but large enough to make 4-5 pork chops. This pan will run you $200. You may think that's pricey but if you think it will be your last one, it's worth it. BTW, if you keep your eye out at Marshalls, TJMaxx, you can find Le Creuset there cheaper than you will find it at the outlet. I found a red braiser for $130 but since I didn't buy it when I saw it, it was gone when I returned. You won't get the color of your choice but is color worth $70, probably not. The outlet has the braiser for about $20 off, which is not enough to not get the color I want.
You can find Le Creuset at the following places, William Sonoma, Sur La Table, Cooking.com,
