Weekly Catalog Finds

It appears I got less than a months break on the catalogs and now they are back.  To keep my paper clutter down I will continue to post what I find weekly, every Saturday to help you and me find the perfect gift.

Polish Pottery Soup cups:  I like Polish pottery and the bonus is it is not made in China.  These handmade, hand painted folk art tradition soup mugs are quite unique.  I especially like the handles, they come in four different patterns.  They are from Cooking Enthusiast, Item# AP04-073 through -076.  The one pictured below is #074, they are $48.95 each, which is pricey but they are handmade and would make a great gift.

Chalk board:  What about a chalk board shaped like a rooster or a bunch of grapes.  Also from Cooking Enthusiast, Item# AP06-011 or for the rooster it is 012 for $14.95.  Great price.

Cork Board:  Are you a visual person like me, what about a cork board for your office.  Pin up reminders, goals, or even inspirational quotes.  They are on sale now at Ballard Designs, Item# WC091-094 depending on the size you want from $49-$299.  They come in rubbed black, rubbed white, or Tuscan brown.  You can also get a chalk board if you prefer.

Travel Mug:  I like this green ceramic travel coffee mug.  Shaped like a disposable paper cup but with a lot more character.  Good gift for the coffee lover on the go.  From Solutions Catalog, Item # 87548 on sale for $14.90
Appetizer Plates:  Do you have people over for appetizers?  These little plates can replace paper plates and fit into any decor since they are white.  One thing I learned from my aunt is to have some white plates.  She actually has everything in white so it goes with anything but I like variety so a few white items is enough for me.  Check out these from Crate and Barrel, Item# VH337, 12 for only $22.95.
Vegetable Peeler:  Lastly, how about something practical.  Have you ever tried pealing a butternut squash.  I would say it is impossible.  I purchase them already cleaned from Costco or I roast them with the skin on.  Even cutting them in half is a bear.  This peeler says it works great on butternut squash, pumpkins or any thick skinned vegetable.  Not sure if I believe it but if it works it is great.  From Cooking Enthusiast, Item# AP04-030 for $17.95
