Weekly Catalog Finds - Gifts for your Garden

As I work on completing my office clean up and tossing more of those catalog tear outs here are a few things that have been on my list for some time but I've yet to purchase them.  Maybe this means I really don't need them?  Who knows but I'll pas them along to you which will allow me to toss the paper sheet. 

Water Catcher:  In CA it rains but some years not so much.  In my efforts to be green and save money I thought it might be a good idea to catch the water when it rains and water my plants when it's not.  Thing is I think this could turn out to be a mosquito swamp.  Until I decide it will remain on my list.  This rain catcher, from Gardener's Supply Company, Item# 38-683 for $219

I put solar path lights in my garden last year from Costco and they worked out great.  They are currently in their coupon catalog for the sale starting tomorrow, March 10, 2011.  I'm going to pick up another set but since we also have spot lights that are hooked up electrically (and don't work), I think I'm going to get these.  Not only will I have working lights but I'll be more green!  These spot lights are from Plow and Hearth, Item# 11788 , set of 2 for $24.99.  You can get  AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries, 8-pack for $14.95, Item# 11900.

Solar Flower Garden Lights:  From Grandinroad, Item# 37032, set of 4 for $99.  These are nice because they point down on the path.

Garden Balls:  These balls are also solar and if they light up enough can cast a pretty color in the garden it will be perfect.  I have a pink palm by the pool so since pink is one of the colors it flashes it will look cool. From Gardeners, Item# 36-850 for $24.95.   You can also get globes here that don't light but look just as pretty.

Self Watering Pot:  Since I can't seem to remember to water any pots in my garden I thought this might be an option until I can get it together.  From the Gardeners, Item# 34-507 for $16.95 (gallon pot) or Item# 36-725 for $12.95 (quart pot)

Garden Torches:  Torches have been on my list for awhile now.  When I finally decided on one, it was sold out, it was the Athena Torch from Frontgate.  I was very disappointed.  In my most recent Frontgate catalog I found two other one's that I like but not sure if I like them as much as Athna.  But like before I can't wait too long or it will be too late.  These Regent torches, Item# 43702 on sale for $64.50 each when you purchase two or more.

The Pisa torches are more modern, and not as detailed as the one above but maybe too sleek for me.  Item Item #39399 for $99.50 for a set of two.  Better deal than the single one above.  My favorite is still the one that is sold out.  Darn it!

Umbrella Light:  For light that is closer to the party and will light up your table here are a couple of options.  This one is LED so it should last forever.  From Improvements Catalog, Item# 384679 for $29.99
