Pie Dish with a ruffly edge

I have been slowly upgrading my kitchen cookware because I love to cook and I like having nice things to do it in.  I use to purchase clear glass but now I like things with color to add a bit of pop while cooking.  Since I take pictures of my dishes for my cookbook having a pretty colored dish makes for a better picture.

The thing with pie dishes is that you also need to have a variety of sizes.  Some are small, some, large and some deep.  Have a few different sizes on hand.  The Longenburger one I have is large and deep.

This weekend's find was an artisan ruffled edge pie plate by Emile Henry  from Williams Sonoma.  It comes in red (pictured below, caramel and white).  The ruffled edge looks great with our without a pie but after you bake in it you pie, no matter how well you do a crust will look lovely.  Price:  $44

Purchase for yourself or as a gift.  It would make a great hostess gift with a baked pie for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.  This way you leave them the dish as a gift when the pie is done.  You can also make a gift basket of sorts by putting it together with one of more of the following:  the Fall Forest Piecrust cutters, a wooden spoon, a pastry cutter or the ingredients and recipe for your favorite pie.  Wrap in cellophane and tie with a ribbon.
The piecrust cutters, also from William Sonoma allow you to decorate your crust for a great Thanksgiving fruit pie.  Price:  $18 or what about for the holidays with a snowflake, reindeer, gingrebread man and a holly leaf, Item #33-2664910 for $18.

The pie plate I currently own (but we all need more than one) is from Longenburger, it's Woven Traditions.  My color (dark green) has been discontinued but they have many other lovely colors.  This pie plate is only $28 so if the one above is too expensive, this is another great option.
