33rd Annual Gilroy Garlic Festival, Gilroy CA

Friday-Sunday, July 29-31, 2011
Gilroy Garlic Festival
Cost:  $15 GA, $6 Child/Senior
7473 Monterey Street . Gilroy, CA

If you have never been to the Garlic Festival it is something every person needs to do at least once.  I mean where else can you eat tons of garlic, even in ice cream and not feel bad about your breath.  I haven't been in a few years but for several years I wouldn't miss it.  We try all the food, keep hydrated because it is usually REALLY hot, do some shopping and listen to a few great bands.  It is a full day if you try and get it all in.  The best day for crowds is Friday because when Saturday rolls around in the past it was always packed so we made sure to get there first thing when it opens.  One of my must stops is Gourmet Alley where I get the combo plate with the stuffed mushrooms, Pasta con Pesto and Scampi.  I did the ice cream once but will never do it again, it tasted like vanilla ice cream sprinkled with garlic powder, YUK.  This year I heard they are also offering chocolate.  When I had it my taste was free so you must at least do the free taste to say you tried it.  Head on down to Gilroy and have a great time.  I may be hiding out in cooler weather this year.

Sorry for the late notice, it has been a busy summer so I've been neglecting my blog a bit.  As always I'll strive to do better.
