Taking a Not so Great recipe and making it Better

The original recipe had a ratio problem or I had a chicken problem.  It did not work as a main dish sandwich meal for me.  My chicken breasts were probably smaller but if using Costco breasts and hoping for a main dish either use larger breasts or double the amount of them.  The two, 8 oz. blocks of cream cheese was way too much for a sandwich when you are expecting a chicken sandwich.  If you want a cheese sandwich then you are all set.  It was suppose to be served on a hoagie with a slice of cheddar and bacon but that would have been off the charts.  I guess it is called "crack" cause it can kill you vs. you can't stop eating it.  Today trying the leftovers I realized it is more of a cold spread or hot dip if same day so spreading it on a slice of sour dough was perfect.  The recipe now makes much more sense to me.  Original recipe came from https://myincrediblerecipes.com/slow-cooker-cream-cheese-crack-chicken/ .  I saw another recipe that used 2 pkg. of Ranch so cutting the cream cheese in half will work fine.  I also saw recipes with 2-3 lb. of chicken so that ratio may work better.

CREAM CHEESE RANCH CHICKEN
3 sm. chicken breasts
2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 pkg. ranch dressing mix
1 C. cheddar cheese, shredded
1 t. garlic powder
Serve with:  1 baguette, sliced

Add all ingredients to a crock pot.  Cook on high for 3 hours.  Shred chicken in pot.  Stir.  Serve on slices of french bread, crackers or veggies if serving cold.
