Plastic Bags Blow: BYOB

Help save the planet and bring your own bag to the store to pack your groceries in.  You can get them from everywhere now a days.  I got some of mine at Whole Foods and The Container Store.

You can even save some money becaues places like Lucky's and Safeway grocery stores you get money back on your purchase (5 cents per bag) for bringing your own bags.  A little incentive but every penny counts.  They offer the same thing at Target so check with your local stores to see who offers this incentive.

I also ordered produce bags on line from Reusit, which work out great.  I purchased the package of 5 but I really need 5 more.  You can store your fruits and veggies in them because they are mesh but I'm afraid I'll forget and the produce will go bad so I remove it.

To make bringing my bags easy I purchased an extra large carabiner hook, called the Mommy Hook which I hang one of the large bags on with the other bags inside.  Then I can clip this to the grocery cart and hand it to the bagger when she is ready.

Take it a step further and bring your own department store bag.  Either purchase one from the store you shop or bring your own.  I got a fancy one from Nordstroms that zips into a small silver square, I have one from JCP, they have them at Marshalls and I even have one from my favorite Winery since I purchase their champagne and when I use that I get 5% off.
